SOURCE: Travel Advantage Network Local Company Takes Steps Each Month to Engage Employees and Charities MILLERSVILLE, MD–(Marketwire – September 14, 2010) – Employees of Travel Advantage Network (TAN), a wholesale vacation accommodations program, raised $3,500 during a month-long fundraising effort for the National Audubon Society.  Largely encouraged by the company’s president, Travel Advantage Network employees seize the altruistic spirit each month by campaigning for one of a diverse selection of charities. During the month of July, employees of TAN’s marketing department chose to support the National Audubon Society in an effort to provide important resources for volunteers and the vital work being done on the Gulf of Mexico and its surrounding natural habitats.  “Audubon is grateful to Travel Advantage Network and all those whose generous support for our Gulf response and recovery effort is helping us make a difference for birds and their habitat,” stated Tom Bancroft, Chief Scientist of National Audubon Society. Fundraising efforts for the National Audubon Society featured a silent auction boasting such items as local restaurant gift cards, lunch with Travel Advantage Network’s General Manager, as well as Baltimore Orioles baseball tickets. Additional events included a pay-to-wear-jeans day, ice cream socials, as well as being sponsored by a local restaurant for an evening, with 20% the cost of each employee’s meal going towards the charity.
