Annual Event Held in Balboa Park, San Diego, Calif. Raises Money for More Than 1.7 Million Meals a Year
SAN DIEGO, CA–(Marketwire – September 14, 2010) – Mr. Copy, a Xerox company serving California, is supporting the San Diego area by helping Father Joe’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk raise money to provide the San Diego area with a continuum of care that promotes a pathway to self-sufficiency and independence. The annual event will be held in Balboa Park and anticipates more than 10,000 participants.
“Father Joe is an influential part of San Diego,” said Bob Leone, chief executive officer, Mr. Copy. “It’s really important to Mr. Copy that we invest in local communities, and we are proud to sponsor an event that brings in enough money to serve more than 1.7 million meals a year to those in need.”
Father Joe’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m. on Nov. 25, 2010. More than 10,000 runners and walkers will participate to raise money to feed those in need. Post-race entertainment will take place at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion and feature the sounds of the Bill Magee Blues Band. Participants also will be able to sample pies and enjoy a free beer garden (for those participants 21 years of age and older). For participants who raise more than $100, Father Joe will be signing his bobble head collectibles.
