Oakwood’s Phoenix-Based Worldwide Sales & Service Center Donates Over 26,000 Bottles of Water for St. Mary’s Food Bank

LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire – September 1, 2010) –  Oakwood Worldwide (www.oakwood.com) is pleased to announce that its Phoenix-based Worldwide Sales and Service Center (WSSC) employees have been providing more than just the usual customer service to customers worldwide. Through its annual water drive for the St. Mary’s Food Bank, Oakwood’s WSSC and its Tempe office have provided 26,875 bottles of water (a total of 456,926 ounces of water) to approximately 6,000 individuals in need in Phoenix, AZ. These bottles will be distributed to the various ‘hydration stations’ around Phoenix.

“Associates here at Oakwood had the idea a few years ago to help the local food bank,” notes Hugh Jones, Vice President Call Center Operations. “We’re all busy during our days, but it’s during these times of fundraising where we can all come together from the 10 different divisions that make up the service center to create a team effort and support our community.”

The Oakwood water drive is made up of seven teams in Phoenix and Tempe offices. Last year’s goal for 100,000 ounces of water was surpassed when 182,000 ounces were collected. For 2010, the goal went up to 200,000 ounces of water and the teams more than doubled the goal, bringing in 456,926 ounces. Results included 8,752 bottles of water gathered by over 100 Oakwood Associates in teams led by Vinny Laude, Jason Eisman, John Prestia, Kendall Borchers, Crystal Anderson, Penny Reese, Paula Hill, and Shelby Campbell.
