AUSTIN, TX–(Marketwire – August 11, 2010) – Offering attendees a one-stop shop for hospitality education, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals’ (HFTP®) 2010 Annual Convention & Tradeshow education program covers the full spectrum of a complex work environment. The convention is October 11 – 14 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel in San Diego, Calif. It offers attendees a way to find cost-effective solutions to their current work challenges, stay informed on the hottest hospitality industry topics, expand their network, increase their professional value and become empowered.

“In the current economic climate we are all trying to do more with less and taking on new or expanded responsibilities,” said Lenore Streitfeld, CHAE, CHTP, controller at Seawane Golf and Country Club and co-chair to the HFTP Education Advisory Council. “The education and networking opportunities at the convention are invaluable to the hospitality professional who has limited time and funds to get up-to-speed with all the new trends and regulations in the hospitality industry.”

The Annual Convention’s education program includes industry-specific, concurrent session tracks — club, hotel, general, technology and leadership unlimited. Hospitality trends covered at the convention include: PCI compliance, going green, internal controls, fraud, the latest tax issues and social networking. The program also includes general sessions aimed at motivating and inspiring attendees. The general sessions include:

Tuesday, October 12 — Bryan Dodge, professional speaker, radio personality and author, discusses how to open the mind and heart to focus on the most essential aspects of life and inspire attendees to reach their full potential.

Wednesday, October 13 — With four distinctly different generations working side by side for the first time in US history, Jason Dorsey, best-selling author, acclaimed speaker and award-winning entrepreneur, focuses on what each generation brings to the workforce and how to build on their common ground.

Thursday, October 14 — Dan Thurmon, CSP, president of Motivation Works, Inc., helps attendees regain control of their accelerated life and achieve greater results in the midst of change by learning how to accomplish more of the important tasks in less time with precision, confidence and satisfaction.

HFTP, founded in 1952, is the global professional association for financial and technology personnel working in hotels, clubs and other hospitality-related businesses.
