SAN DIEGO, CA–(Marketwire – August 12, 2010) –  Barona Resort & Casino announced today that Nick Dillon has been promoted to executive vice president/assistant general manager. Dillon, who began his career at Barona more than 18 years ago, most recently served as the casino’s senior vice president of gaming operations.

In his new position, he will help to create a fun casino experience and keep Barona positioned as the premier casino resort destination in the state. With a team of over 1,000 staff members working on the casino floor, he will continue to implement new and existing promotions such as the Barona Loose Troop™ and Manufacturer’s Best Payout program. He will also deploy the latest and most popular games and state-of-the-art technology in the casino, as well as direct new marketing initiatives and resort services. Additionally, Dillon will be charged with inspiring team members to uphold Barona’s reputation for providing unsurpassed customer service and “Making Fun Happen.”

Dillon’s career at Barona spans more than nine positions since he started as a bingo clerk in 1990. He has been involved in the development of some of the industry’s most sophisticated and unique innovations including the first Ticket In/Ticket Out voucher system unveiled in 2000, the opening of the first private gaming room in the nation in 2001, the first installation of server based gaming in 2005 and the implementation of mobile marketing programs in 2009. 

Since 1997, he has led Barona’s gaming operations team and has directed all aspects of the casino including bingo, poker, table games, slots, off track betting, Club Barona and player development.

Dillon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from San Diego State University.
