MISS CALIFORNIA USA Pageant Registers the Largest Number of Participants in the History of the Organization and Announces The Social Network Awards
LOS ANGELES, CA–(Marketwire – October 6, 2010) – The MISS CALIFORNIA USA® has registered the most contestants for any state in the history of Donald Trump’s MISS USA® and MISS UNIVERSE® organization. Over 400 women are set to compete for the prestigious title of MISS CALIFORNIA USA 2011. MISS CALIFORNIA USA will pioneer “The Social Network Awards” this year. The two awards will be: The Friend’s Choice Award and The People’s Choice Award in partnership with Dyyno and using Facebook and Twitter scorecards.
Continuing with the concept introduced at the 2010 pageant, MISS CALIFORNIA USA has progressed to a level that combines a chic and sensational adaption for the ages and the dynamic social network pioneer in California, while maintaining the long-standing premise of the pageant. Partnering with Dyyno, MISS CALIFORNIA USA has developed two new awards. The Friend’s Choice Award is for the contestant who successfully leverages social networking skills with Facebook to be the most “liked” contestant. The People’s Choice Award is for the contestant who successfully leverages social networking skills with Twitter to be the most tweeted contestant of the Pageant.
“In the coming era, in addition to personality and communication skills, MISS CALIFORNIA USA and all the contestants need to master their social networking skills,” said Raj Jaswa, CEO and President of Dyyno. The Show at Agua Caliente Casino • Resort • Spa in Rancho Mirage will be hosting the 2011 pageant. The pageant will be streaming live on November 21st at beginning at 2 p.m.
