While the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and Los Angeles Guitar Quartet Sizzle, the Russian National Orchestra Heats Up the Festival del Sole
NAPA, CA–(Marketwire – July 12, 2010) – Building on its renowned support of the arts, Bouchaine Vineyards is pleased to announce its involvement in two groundbreaking musical collaborations. An official sponsor of the renowned Napa Valley Festival del Sole, Bouchaine has enabled the Russian National Orchestra to be in residence for the next four years. This year, the festival dates are July 16-25, 2010. The winery also recently sponsored the newly released world premiere recording of Interchange for Guitar Quartet and Orchestra — a collaboration between the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet and the Delaware Symphony Orchestra.
Now one of the country’s leading music festivals, the Festival del Sole offers the finest music, art, food and wine experience over ten days for every taste and budget. Within this, the Bouchaine Young Artist Series will provide free concerts to the public given by emerging musicians and talented young performers across the Napa Valley. This will include performances by Tessa Seymour-cello, Alexi Kenney-violin, and Natasha Paremski-piano. Information can be found on www.festivaldelsole.com.
Interchange for Guitar Quartet and Orchestra, a collaborative work written by Brazilian composer Sergio Assad specifically for the members of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LACQ), is another collaboration Bouchaine was proud to support. This first time collaboration between the Delaware Symphony Orchestra (DSO) and the LAGQ is the first major label recording for the DSO.
Delaware Symphony Conductor David Amado, renowned for his innovative programming, led his orchestra in an extraordinary effort to make this recording very special. Tatiana Copeland, co-proprietor of Bouchaine Vineyards, said “We felt it was important to bring the DSO to national and international attention by sponsoring its first CD. We are excited that this CD, produced and distributed by Telarc, is also selling like hot cakes in Spain, after making its debut as #11 on the Billboard charts in the United States.”
