TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Aug. 17, 2010) – With its milestone 40^th birthday coming up next year, Ontario Place wants all Ontarians to get ready to celebrate by sharing their ideas for the future of the park and taking a trip down memory lane.

Beginning today and continuing through Labour Day, September 6, visitors to Ontario Place can recapture the magic of the park’s opening at the My Ontario Place Pavilion. My Ontario Place features a stunning photo gallery, video show, historical newspapers from some of the greatest events to take place at the waterfront, as well as an interactive computer station.

For the rest of the season, Ontario Place is also offering visitors special screenings of original IMAX films, including North of Superior – the first and still one of the most popular films ever shown on the Cinesphere’s eight-storey high screen.

No matter where Ontarians live, they will be able to experience My Ontario Place through www.myontarioplace.com, a new multi-dimension, interactive, idea-generation and idea-sharing website where visitors can test their knowledge of Ontario Place, post their favourite photos and memories, and share their ideas for the future of Ontario Place.

In July, Ontario Place issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather innovative ideas to develop a state-of-the-art, year-round attraction that will help re-energize the waterfront and bring new international recognition to Ontario. These proposals will help formulate a vision and long-term strategy for redevelopment.
