MONTREAL, QUEBEC–(Marketwire – Sept. 28, 2010) – To celebrate its 60 years in Canada, Air France, in close collaboration with Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) is pleased to invite media representatives to participate in the activities surrounding the landing of a special anniversary flight by one of its Airbus A380s on Thursday, October 7, at Montréal–Pierre Elliott International airport.

This will be the first Airbus A380 commercial flight to land at Montreal–Trudeau.*

Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, Chief Executive Officer, AIR FRANCE KLM, will meet with the media upon the arrival.

*The November 2007 demo flight by the Airbus company, in collaboration with Air France and ADM, was made with an A380 prototype before the aircraft went into service.

There will be two separate media activities: the landing and the news conference. Camera crews and photographers accredited to shoot the landing from an ADM vehicle will also be invited to cover the news conference in the Salon L’Espace Air France lounge, located in the restricted area of the terminal’s international jetty. For security reasons, movements will take place in groups at fixed times (see accompanying schedule).

In light of operational constraints, it is important to note that the camera crews in the ADM vehicle will have a limited amount of time to rejoin reporters in the Salon L’Espace Air France and then set up to cover the news conference. A second camera crew can also be dispatched to set up in advance in the lounge. We also suggest that a pool be organized comprising a cameramen and two photographers.

All participants in this media activity should park in the Hôtelparc lot beneath the Marriott hotel. They should then take the hotel elevator to Level 1, where they will be directed to a bus parked outside the hotel. There will be signs posted to this effect.

For operational reasons, ADM and Air France reserve the right to limit the number of representatives per media outlet. 

Important: The following schedule will be adjusted at noon on October 7, based on the estimated arrival time of the A380. An updated schedule will be e-mailed to media representatives.

Because these activities will be held in the restricted area of the terminal, all participants will have to comply with security measures. 

We would therefore like to ask you to send us, BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 4, the names of the reporters, photographers or camera crews who will be assigned to cover this event. Media representatives whose names are not submitted in advance will not be able to cover the event. In addition, for security reasons, media representatives must arrive at the time indicated; otherwise they will be denied access to the media activities.

All registered media representatives must present a photo ID card and pass through a security checkpoint. For purposes of the security search, we would like to remind you that certain objects are forbidden in the restricted area; they include: liquids in containers of more than 100 ml (3.4 oz), knives, razors and scissors.

Lastly, space has been reserved for networks wishing to install a microwave truck exclusively to film footage of the landing. Members of the media who wish to use this space must inform us in advance.
