CLEARWATER, FL–(Marketwire – October 7, 2010) –  Le Boat, Europe’s #1 self-drive boating company, is opening new bases in Precenicco, Italy and Woudsend, Holland for the 2011 canal cruising season, which begins March 2011. Best of all, no experience required.

New Base in Precenicco, Italy
Le Boat’s new base in Precenicco opens up fantastic cruising opportunities along the seaside canals of the northern Venetian Lagoon, providing an opportunity to see Italy’s beautiful rural countryside and visit pretty fishing villages and elegant seaside towns. Located in the region of Friuli, there is virtually no commercial traffic like Venice’s waterways and the canals are easier to navigate, giving cruisers a chance to immerse themselves in Italian lifestyle and culture. This region is popular for its sandy golden beaches, excellent restaurants, and clean waters of Ligano, but is also one of the most important areas in Italy for wine production. The Precenicco fleet will include a range of boats that provide accommodation from two to 10 passengers, including the all-new Le Boat 1500 Series.

New Base in Woudsend, Holland
Boating is a way of life in Holland, and Le Boat is delighted to open a new base in Woudsend, which provides a wide range of modern facilities and great access to the Netherlands’ northern cruising region, Friesland. Popular with watersport and boating enthusiasts, this is a peaceful, quiet area well-known for its lakes, pastoral countryside and many coastal villages. A trip through the Friesland canals will introduce cruisers to many unique cultural and historical traditions. The Woudsend fleet will include a range of boats that provide accommodation from two to 10 passengers.

“Le Boat is proud to offer these 2 new cruising areas to its clients. We are always striving to open up new destinations that allow cruisers to fully immerse themselves in the culture and experience the beauty of Europe, which might be overlooked in more traditional tours,” Cheryl Powell, Chief Operating Officer, Le Boat.

Editor’s Note: Le Boat, the largest operator of self-drive boating vacations on Europe’s waterways, operates its own fleet of 1000+ self-drive cruisers from a network of over 40 departure bases across eight European countries. Le Boat brings together over 40 years of expertise from Crown Blue Line and Connoisseur in Europe and Emerald Star in Ireland. Visit www.leboat.com for more information.
