Hammer Launches a New Slot at Jackpotjoy

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM–(Marketwire – Oct. 20, 2010)Gamesys have just launched a brand new slot, produced in conjunction with legendary British film studio Hammer, the House of Horror. The slot, which will be exclusively available on Jackpotjoy, is based on Hammer’s 1971 classic Twins of Evil, and offers players the chance to win up to 20,000 times their stake!

Jackpotjoy, and their parent company, Gamesys, are no strangers to releasing exciting co-branded games. In addition to managing a range of core brands in the online entertainment business providing bingo, instant win and casino games to a worldwide audience, the site has launched co-branded games with a number of top gameshows including Family Fortunes, Play Your Cards Right and The Price is Right. They also won eGaming Review’s Innovation of the Year award for last year’s Monopoly Snap!

Most recently though, the gaming outfit have announced a partnership with one of the true legends of the British entertainment scene – Hammer films, known worldwide as the “House of Horror”.

Hammer, who are most famous for their Gothic horror masterpieces of the 50s, 60s and 70s, have returned to the news recently with the November 5th UK release of Matt Reeves’ highly-acclaimed vampire thriller Let Me In. They’re also sure to make big news next year with an adaptation of Susan Hill’s ghost story The Woman In Black, which stars Harry Potter lead Daniel Radcliffe in his first big screen foray since graduating from Hogwarts.

The studio worked with Gamesys on the production of the Twins of Evil slot, which is based on their 1971 classic starring Peter Cushing and the Collinson twins Madeleine and Mary. The film was the final part of Hammer’s legendary Karnstein trilogy, which is loosely based on J. Sheridan Le Fanu’s 19th century vampire novella Carmilla.

The Twins of Evil slot offers players the chance to win up to 20,000 times their coin size – which could be £200 if you’re playing for 1p a line, or £40,000 if you’re playing for the slot’s highest price band of £2 a line.

As well as a huge top payout, you can also enjoy a stake themed win multiplier and the chance to enjoy some of the original film’s iconic footage as well as classic music cues by Hammer’s benchmark composer James Bernard.

“This is certainly a slot that should delight fans of the original Hammer horror movies,” enthuses Fraser Linkleter, Gamesys’ slots and casino product manager.

“It was very important that we caught the essence of the original films,” he explains, “which meant getting the look and feel right, but also the sound. We’ve had weeks of some of the most blood curdling screams echoing around the office,” he smiles, “I think I’ve been scarred for life!”

But it’s the way the slot’s horrific elements combine with the chance of a big win that Linkleter thinks will really draw the crowds.

“We wanted to engage with the idea of the good and bad sides of the twins themselves, so we’ve launched with a bonus game where players select pictures of the girls. If the evil twin shows her face, the round is over; but if you turn the good twin, you’ll find a juicy win!”

Hammer House of Horror’s Twins of Evil slot is now available to play at Jackpotjoy.
